Another successful Fall Oyster Crawl!
Thanks to everyone who attended our 2018 Fall Oyster Crawl! This event features wine and oyster pairings at participating wineries throughout the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail. At Ingleside, we featured three styles of Oysters prepared onsite by the R&B Oyster Bar from Denson’s. Denson’s is a third generation-owned restaurant and gourmet market from Colonial Beach, VA, with a focus on local and regional cuisine.
Oyster styles included: Oyster on the Half Shell, Fried Oysters and “Oysters Denson” (grilled with seasonings and topped with Parmesan cheese). Denson’s also offered their award-winning Crab Cakes, plus cheese platters and chocolate eclairs for dessert. Suggested wine pairings were recommended for each dish.
This full weekend event featured music by Karen Jonas on Saturday, Nov. 10th and the Lewis Sluder Smith Acoustic Trio on Sunday, Nov. 11th. Our firepits helped keep the guests warm during the clear but cold fall weather; indoor seating was also available in our Pavilion.
The Oyster Crawl is a family-friendly event and even dogs love the Crawl! Many of our customers enjoy bringing their dogs to the Spring and Fall Oyster Crawls. (Well-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome in our courtyard and outside grounds.)
Cheers to Allison Luzier Photography for the wonderful event photos!
